Reduces test samples too large to handle conveniently. Divides samples so each half is representative of original total sample. Handles any material from sand sizes up to 4". Heavy welded steel construction loading hopper holds up to 1 cu. ft. (0.03m³), lever-actuated clamshell hopper, two material pans slide under each half of splitter chute. One pan can be replaced by a bag loading chute to return one half of the charge to a sample bag.

The single-splitter chute has aluminum or plated steel bars with a locating rod passed through their lower ends to provide wide flexibility in sizes of chute openings. Each 12"-wide chute bar adjusts for any increment of 1/2" wide to allow 1/2" adjustment that will divide into the total 24" chute width evenly. Chute widths of 1/2", 1", 1 1/2", 2", 3", up to 4" may be selected by proper positioning of the chute bars. Two materials pans are included.
